CSA starts soon!
"Is the spring coming?" he said. "What is it like?"…"It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine…"
Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
Maybe spring is a couple of months away, but the seedlings and seeds are nestled in their homes ready to break forth into beauty. Such a miracle isn't it? Snow on the ground and freezing temperatures, yet somehow the eager flowers seem to find their way.
The timing of this may be seem unsuitable with the snowy, icy weather these last few days. But maybe it can serve as a gentle reminder that spring's blossoms are coming, oh-so-soon!
Excited for another season, I am incredibly grateful for all of my friends who supported me through my first CSA last season. THANK YOU! Delivering the bouquets was truly the highlight of each week and I could not have done it without your help.
To those of you who have been giving me the social media lecture - well, this is my first blog post. I realize it took long enough, but with a bit of self-examination I discovered the delay to be more about my own fears than qualms I have with social media. I can't tell you how many times I exclaimed “What in the world am I doing!” But this work brings me great joy, even alongside the many stresses and costs. You were all amazing and kept me believing. I was touched that many of you kept my poesies even after the last bouquet's were gone. Thank you for the support.
One thing I love about the flower CSA is the relationships. This past year, I got to know many of you better. I am hoping for the same this season and am planning to have a couple of voluntary community work days for flower subscribers. This will include a couple hours of pure "delight" planting seeds, shoveling mulch, transplanting plugs, weeding, etc. And of course it will be followed by a simple meal on the farm! If we all work together we must eat together, right?
I will also try my best to keep you informed about all of the happenings on the farm. Photographs at the very least.
So without further ado, please visit my CSA page if you are interested in becoming a subscriber this season! The details will be found there.
Feel free to email me at lindleyklp@gmail.com if you have any questions.
THANK YOU for your support!
